So hard to believe that another year has come and gone but the joy of a new year is the joy of new beginnings and fresh starts. It won’t be long before this year is old and each of us will have our disappointments and joys – some more than others but for today, on the 1st day of the year, I’m going to join in looking forward to the new year and making changes.
For me, this year, it’s more like setting a year-long goal and that is basically to get this house in order to sell.
We’ve lived in our home for 10 years now so you can bet that things have fallen apart! When we moved in I was pregnant with Caleb – now he’s 10 years old and we’ve added 3 more members to our family who at 7 are also growing quite quickly. So the house that seemed a perfect fit for us 10 years ago seems like a tight fit now.
I’m not complaining – our home has housed us and kept us dry for 10 years. It’s more than many people have and many parts of it are just fine but as our little ones get bigger and we add more exchange students the space gets tighter and tighter and entertaining becomes more and more out of the question.
I am dubbing 2014 “Fix It 2014”
We started in 2013 – got 2 bathrooms repaired but we have so much more to do.
The good news is I have a little help this year!
I love New Year’s Resolutions – I don’t know why other than I think they are fun to make – but this year I don’t really have any other than the goal to get my house in order. More than just organizing – it also includes decorating and making house repairs.
Maybe if I have just one goal I’ll get it all done this year 🙂
